Reseacher and fear expert Roanne van Voorst is giving a seminar of how to Conquer Fear.

For 10 years Roanne has traveled all over the world to interview top athletes who were able to push their boundaries to manage their fear and reach their highest goals, overcome stress and self doubt.

In February 2018, Roanne released her book FEAR, which you can buy on the spot.

Our special guest Roanne will give a seminar especially for surfers, kiters or other watersport lovers*.

It will help you to push your limit to take that bigger wave or other fear obstacles in the ocean.

 

Five proven methods

have been developed to keep pushing your boundaries over and over again, boundaries that are now holding you from catching that bigger wave.

Where the fear begins is different for everyone. But the methods can be applied by everyone at every level.

At the end of the evening you will go home with useful tools that can help you to conquer that wave.

 

*but even if your are not one of those, the methods can be applied on any fear in your life!

Program

Surf Fit program:

Every morning we have a 45 min surf fit work out, that will train you for a strong paddle, and a faster pop-up ending with a 15 min surf fearless breathing technique.

Surf Fit

Surf Food:

Every day we serve fully fledged healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner designed to get the best out of your surf week. Mostly organic.

 

Surfing is pretty intense. Research shows that if we eat the right food fitting to your surf workout you will have more energy for a surf session before and after.

For this week we have designed a menu that fits perfectly on the right amount of carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals intake for a full-on surf week.

Surf Apnea:

If you want to progress in surfing bigger, waves we offer a full Surf Apnea Course. (3 afternoons)

It will learn you to control your breathing and practice long breathing techniques.

It includes:

* Breathing techniques.

* Yoga and its influence on compensation and breathing.

* Specific training in the sea, pool and land.

* Diets and nutrition adapted to apnea

* Relaxation and meditation techniques.

* Safety and dangers of apnea (syncope, rescue ..)

* Adaptation of the body to immersion

Surf Apnea

 

Surf Food Lecture:

There is a lot of confusion of what good food is. Besides that, it is different from person to person. In this lecture we will unwire the confusion and you will get to understand what good food is, and why. Also you will learn what to eat if you are an active surfer (or athlete) and what will nourish your body the best.

 

Surf Fearless Workshop:

In this workshop we will offer you some tools that will help you to manage your fear.

We will do a few exercises to get you going mastering to take bigger waves.

Surf Lessons:

If you are interested in the surf fit and surf food program, but you are not able to master yet the surfing itself we offer surf lessons for the whole week.

How does a typical day look like, depending on the tides and forecast:

A typical day looks like this: Surf Fit Training, breakfast, 1st surf (or lessons), lunch, Surf Apnea, 2nd surf, free time, relaxation/ fear program/strechting, lecture or movie, dinner

 

 

Impression

We stay in a beautiful villa, with a gorgeous view and swimming pool. Most of the rooms have a private bathroom and there are two whirlpools. One outdoor and one indoor. On 15 min walk distance you have the break from Islares which is a consistent longboard break. All along the beaches of Cantabria you will find beautiful beaches.

SURF FOOD
high performance food intake

Research shows an inadequate dietary intake by surfers. In fact instead of becoming stronger we often are giving in on our health on long surfing sessions.

We, at Sweat, Tears and the Surf learn to have the best food intake before your session, during and afterwards, so you can stay just a bit longer in the water and you have that extra power to conquer that wave.

SURF FIT
High performance training

If your are not living close to the beach or when you are not surfing the whole year around you don't want to paddle with spaghetti arms. Neither feel like an fat whale landing on the board when you want to pop-up.

In this training you will learn what work-out works best to keep you fit the whole year round. Or if you want to have a super strong paddle and super fast pop-up on the upcoming holiday you planned.

Also we do a swimming pool training were we teach and practice breathing for a longer breath hold and to get more confident when you get held down by a wave.

High performance fear managEment

Fear can truly stand in your way to progress in surfing. Fear exists on every level. Whether you are afraid of big waves, being washed and held down or scared of collision with other surfers. Wherever your fear is holding you from reaching your goal, this is the ultimate training to push your boundaries. As we teach you how to get more confident physically in the Surf Fit swimming pool training. At Surf Fearless we show you how to mentally master your mind to be in peace in the ocean.

THE WEEK

SURF APNEA FIT WEEK

NEW DATES wILL FOLLOW

This week it will all become one.

A 6-day week where the sections Surf Food, Surf Fit and Surf Fearless will be combined in one.

You will learn to master your fear mentally and physically, you will do a training specifically designed to surf stronger. We will do several breath hold techniques and will train these over the week.

You will get the best food to get the most out of yourself.

And last but not least this all we can practice in the beautiful waves in Cantabria, Spain.

THE WEEKEND

In 3 à 4 weekend days we will train the basics of a surf stronger body from the Surf Food, Surf Fit and Surf Fearless training.
